1. Application Open for UN Global Climate Action Awards

Organizations, cities, businesses, schools, governments, and others taking bold leadership on climate change can nominate their work for a UN Global Climate Action award.
The award, the focus of United Nations Climate Change’s Momentum for Change initiative, recognizes the world’s most innovative, scalable and replicable examples of action to tackle climate change.
The award showcases people and projects taking bold and effective action, to lend momentum to these efforts and inspire others to act. The selected activities will be recognized and celebrated at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26) in Glasgow, Scotland, in November 2020.



2. GEF Small Grant Program

The grant of GEF SGP is only for local CSOs, NPA and CBO, other iNGOs and government line agencies can be implementing partners to help these eligible applicants.

This is a program that aims at "providing financial and technical support to projects that conserve and restore the environment while enhancing people's well-being and livelihoods.

3. Germany Ministry for Environment Grant Funding (International Climate Initiative)

The German Ministry for the Environment has launched a new Grant Funding Opportunity under its International Climate Initiative(IKI). The Call is now open for organisations to apply for up to 100,000 EUR for projects addressing challenges related to climate change or nature conservation. Lao non-profit organisations and INGOs active in Laos are eligible to apply as long as their annual turnover budget is lower than 500,000 EUROS.

          The Deadline for Application is 5th March 2020.

4. Training Opportunity

United Edge is back to Vientiane to provide once more their 3-day Training Workshop on Justice Based Approach. “The next Better Development: A Justice Based Approach training” in Vientiane will take place from 4-6 May, 2020. Attached is the full brochure.

The training is relevant for any level and department of staff and brings together a diverse mix of participants from Lao NPAs, INGOs, donors, UN agencies, RC movement, and other partners.

The training last year was sold out, so they are asking for interested people to register at this link as soon as possible to confirm their places.
